Mobile Marketing Retail Summit – Startup Showcase

MMsummit logos_retail_colourAt Mobile Marketing, we’re really excited to discover new technology being developed by emerging businesses working in the mobile space. To help get these innovations and ideas directly into the hands of the marketers who need them most, we host our very own Startup Showcase at our UK Mobile Marketing Summits.

This section of each Summit gives four of the most dynamic startups the chance to talk about their company’s products and services, with delegates voting for their favourite. Each Summit presents startups relevant to that particular industry – Retail, Travel & Tourism, Finance, or Fashion & Luxury.

With the Mobile Marketing Retail Summit on the horizon, here’s a preview of the four companies who will feature in the Startup Showcase on 23 April.

Pulsate-logoPulsate

Founded in Dublin in 2013, Pulsate is an end-to-end context marketing platform for mobile that drives new revenue for retailers by changing the way they interact with customers both inside their apps and within bricks and mortar outlets. Easily integrated with new or existing apps, it provides live audience segmentation alongside an intuitive campaign-builder to deliver engaging customer experiences.

Pulsate uses in-app behaviours, geofences and beacons to trigger content delivery at the right place and time. App users are encouraged to reply, forming a direct dialogue between the brand and the customer.

Patrick Leddy, who will represent Pulsate, founded mobile strategy firm Furious Tribe, and has been a mobile strategy consultant to international brands including Citibank, Vodafone, RSA, O2, Danone, Nedbank, AXA, EMI and Investec.

GleamGleam

Launched in 2013, Gleam is a mobile fashion discovery and intelligence platform with a proprietary fashion app for inspiration and shopping. Available on iOS and Android, it brings to its 350,000 users the latest trends from more than 700 global and local fashion sources. The Beta version of the platform is designed for brands searching for real-time insights from the mobile consumer that are currently based in Latin America, or looking to move into this region.

Gleams CEO and co-founder, Andreia Campos, will be presenting at the event. Andreia is originally from Porto, where she graduated in Management, and worked at Siemens AG. After working in Beijing and Mexico City, she then joined Parfois, a global Fashion Accessories brand, as marketing manager, before co-founding Gleam.

Glimr enables retail brands to reimagine their customers’ journey in-store. It works in tandem with beacons to ping a customer’s phone when they are near a store or product – even when applications are turned off. The Glimr technology can be integrated into any existing iPhone or Android app via an SDK. Retailers can log in and create in-store campaigns and manage detailed analytics on how shoppers are moving around their stores via a cloud-based platform.

At the Mobile Marketing Retail Summit, Glimr’s CEO, Robert Hedberg, will be talking more about how Glimr allows brands to build unique 1:1 relationships with their customers by using on and offline data.

2014-NewAer-ProxPlatform-Logo-CMYKNewAer

NewAer has developed a lightweight mobile software client that runs on a smartphone, and a robust back-end server that can execute complex rule sets. These rules are created by developers or end-users of any mobile app and are based upon an individual’s physical interactions with the environment. The developer-focused SDK ProxPlatform is a core client and server-side technology that lets mobile app developers on Android and iPhone/iPad devices add presence events within third party applications.

NewAer founder Dave Mathews will represent the company at the Retail Summit. Dave previously worked on creating some of the first mobile data solutions for carriers worldwide. He has developed communication-focused retail superstores and the products inside, as well as routing technologies, supply chain management and back-end database infrastructure.

Like Glimr, NewAer is part of Unilever’s successful global startup program, Unilever Foundry.
