Mobile Posse, which delivers marketing messages to mobile home screens, has revealed that it now reaches more than 15m mobile consumers with active home screen messaging; one third of these are on Android devices.
The company has also closed $5m in a Series C funding, led by new investor, Harbert Venture Partners, and also including Softbank Capital, Court Square Ventures, Columbia Capital, and a number of individual investors.
US carriers who use Mobile Posse to engage subscribers include Verizon Wireless, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, and Cricket. The Mobile Posse platform allows carriers and advertisers to engage consumers with graphical interactive messages and surveys via the home screen of their mobile phones. Carriers leverage the platform to deliver full-screen, full-colour CRM messages supporting customer service and product initiatives. Consumers opt–in to the free service to receive information, such as weather forecasts and local gas prices, along with offers from national and local advertisers.
The company claims that clickthrough rates come in at 8 – 10 per cent for advertising messages; 12 – 15 per cent for content messaging: 12-15 percent; and 27 – 30 per cent for CRM messaging.
“The value and power of the mobile phone home screen is immense,” says Mobile Posse CEO, Jon Jackson. “Every day, we are engaging a growing number of consumers with CRM messaging, advertising and content delivered directly to the home screen. The home screen delivers proven engagement and we are thrilled that investors agree.”
