Broadband and mobile phone providers are failing to explain the technical aspects of their products or suggesting deals that will suit customers' needs, according to the latest research from moneysupermarket.com.
Opinium Research carried out an online poll of 2,008 British adults from 21 25 August. The study, which looked at where consumers turn to for technical or product information, showed that millions of adults are entering into contracts without having the product properly explained to them, what the product is, with 77% saying that their mobile phone provider failed to convey the product details appropriately, and only 19% saying that their mobile phone provider offered them the most suitable deal.
There are hundreds of tariffs and products on the market so when you are first looking to buy a broadband or mobile package finding the right deal can be like looking for a needle in a haystack, says James Parker, Manager of Mobiles and Broadband at moneysupermarket.com. However, more choice can mean the perfect offer is out there and it shouldnt be a case of just picking the cheapest or fastest deal. With the right information, consumers should get the best deal for their needs every time.”
