Mobile Sales Accelerator Showpad Raises $8.5m in Funding

iPad + iPhone appsShowpad, a mobile sales acceleration platform that increases the productivity of sales, has raised $8.5m (£5.4m) in Series B funding, led by Dawn Capital.

The company will use the money to expand its offices in Ghent and San Francisco, hiring 25 additional employees across the two sites over the next few months. The firm expects annual recurring revenues to exceed $10m in 2015, and includes customers such as Intel, Siemans and BASF.

Showpads technology turns mobile devices into powerful sales and presentation tools, enabling sales reps, partners and customers to access the right information in any format while delivering insights and analytics back to companies on how customers respond to information shared.

“Sales are tired of the traditional approach to selling,” said Pieterjan Bouten, co-founder and CEO of Showpad. “Many companies are looking for technology to shorten sales cycles, close more business and accelerate their sales. Showpad makes sure sales find the right content, tell the right story and optimise the conversation.

“The demand for our solution is huge, so the timing of this round is just perfect to strengthen that momentum. [Previous investor] Hummingbird and Dawn are two investors who can help us build a world-class company, so we are very excited to have them on board.”
