asap.mobi Plc has announced the trade launch of plans for asap.mobi, which it describes as “an innovative new mobile advertising service and consumer search tool.” asap.mobi, the company says, will, for the first time ever, enable the majority of mobile phone users to access details of available jobs, property and cars, using their mobile phones.
asap.mobi aims to give estate agents, motor dealerships and recruitment companies access to a highly effective new advertising channel. Simultaneously, the company says, consumers will experience greater choice and maximum convenience, as they will enjoy unlimited access to advertised information through the mobile Internet, regardless of time or location.
The Directors of asap.mobi are presently raising capital for the company, and are inviting enquiries from potential corporate investors and advertisers, with an offer of subscription open until 30 December 2006. Investment is invited primarily from corporates and individuals within the automobile industry. The company says that the general public will be invited to invest during the last week of December, if the offer has not been taken up in full by the three target industries.
The company points out that it currently meets the criteria and qualifying conditions of the Governments Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). Consequently, it says, individual investors should be eligible for income tax relief on new equity investment in the company, in addition to capital gains tax exemption on disposal of shares. Successful corporate applicants to the investors scheme will additionally receive substantially discounted advertising rates.
The service is presently in the planning and development phase, with initial plans for a consumer launch targeted at spring 2007. The service will be remarkably easy to operate, the company says. Users simply select appropriate criteria from a variety of drop-down boxes, then asap.mobi rapidly searches its database and returns matching results.
Search results can be sent to an email account, in addition to being accessed through the mobile handset, and will arrive in the form of colour images and neatly summarised descriptions. The software constructs a personalised homepage for each user, tailoring content to their individual requirements and adding relevant updates. Furthermore, users also have the option of making direct contact with the relevant agent or advertiser via phone or text message.
The asap.mobi service is being launched by a team with experience in the mobile application and brand-building industries. The applications software is being developed in association with mobile agency Sponge Group. The Minimart Advertising Consultancy has been appointed to design and implement the marketing strategy, with input from Ian Prager of Pi Media. Media liaison and communications activity is being handled by Zebra Public Relations.
