GoPrezzo, a mobile tournament gaming platform with real-world prizes, has launched in the UK.
It gives developers a share of gaming revenues on a cost-per-engagement model, while signing up leading brands to offer prizes to gamers who share their scores.
The platform, created by an Irish entrepreneur, launched in the US last year, and generates an average seven per cent click-through-rate and four per cent conversion rate, the company said. GoPrezzo already has brand partners including Paul Frank, cosmetics firm Birchbox and textile-seller Simple Things.
The team won a further £500,000 investment to support the UK launch and help them offer more games. Its portfolio includes top-rated games like Boom Bugs, Rope Rescue and Legend of Fat Ninja. The company says it is positive that the number of pre-launch registrations in the UK will lead to a significant number of sign-ups.
CEO Aaron Taylor has previously worked for Electronic Arts and Cisco and was named one of Northern Ireland’s Business Top 50 in 2012.
