Siano Mobile Silicon, which supplies semiconductor solutions for Mobile TV is to stage a Mobile TV seminar in Taipei, jointly hosted by Siano and the Taiwan DTV committee. The event takes place at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) on 9 May, and will examine the evolving MDTV market and critical aspects of its ecosystem.
The future of MDTV, in light of user adoption, spectrum allocation and a variety of business models, will be debated in an open panel by senior representatives from PTS, Telecom Italia, NCC and BenQ. Telecom Italia is also scheduled to present a case study of the Italian DVB-H network to the Taiwan audience, introducing first-hand results and operator and end-user standpoints, ahead of the anticipated results of the commercial DVB-H trials in Taiwan.
This seminar represents a platform for important and timely discussion within the MDTV industry in Taiwan, says Siano CEO Alon Ironi. Mobile Digital TV in Taiwan is currently at a pinnacle point in its development, drawing attention not only from local Taiwanese players, but from all around the globe.
Ronen Jashek, Director of Technical Marketing at Siano adds:
Taiwan is expected to be among the first countries in the world to commercially deploy DVB-H, and will serve as a blueprint for rollout of DVB-H in other geographies. The manner in which mobile TV will be deployed in Taiwan involves many potential challenges, opportunities and cooperation models, hence sharing of knowledge within this ecosystem will ensure maximum quality of service for the end-consumer.
