The Association for Interactive Media & Entertainment (AIME) is running an evening event titled: Exploring The Mobile Widget Universe in London on Thursday 29 October.
The event takes place at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel, London W2 1JU, kicking off at 6.30pm. It will look at the role played by mobile widgets in enabling people to interact with the Internet from any place, at any time, in a user-friendly way. Mobile widgets provide access to the cloud with portable applications that users can share, and which developers can easily produce in order to serve niche markets on the Internet.
Mobile widgets, says AIME, herald a way for all elements within the content value chain to maintain direct communication and access with customers, whether youre a content provider, a brand, a mobile operator or a handset manufacturer.
The event will feature presentations from senior executives from Qualcomm, Mobile Interactive Group and Vodafone, who will also take part in a Q&A debate with the audience.
Issues to be addressed include:
- Summary of network operator mobile widget developments
- Native apps vs. the browser vs. the widget
- Emerging standards
- Managing the backend: app store, distribution, life-cycle management
- Nurturing a developer eco-system
- Revenue models
Attendance costs 50 for AIME members, 80 for non-members, with a fee of 90 for any attendees on the day who have not registered in advance.
