Danish mobile business group Mobilethink has unveiled a solution that enables mobile operators to determine the full profile of every feature phone and smartphone used in their network. Armed with the solution, Mobilethink says that operators can strengthen their segmentation and develop precision marketing campaigns to targeted device users, with resulting improvements in demand for phone upgrades, new internet services and content, as well as improvements in customer retention rates. The service is being brought to marke under the umbrella of a new business unit called Mobilethink Analytics.
Mobilethink says the solution is easy-to-use and intuitive and provides the most comprehensive information on feature phones used in any network. No other device intelligence provider can capture such comprehensive data, the company claims, adding that Mobilethink Analytics’ software can analyze data on thousands of feature phones, smartphones and superphones at the click of a mouse.
“Working closely with our customers, we have found that in-depth analysis of handsets used in networks and their capabilities, combined with information about device usage of services, applications, lifecycle, and location, represents vital knowledge for mobile operators across all layers of decision making,” says Mobilethink founder and CEO, Lars Houbak,. “Mobilethink Analytics’ new engine and associated offerings are real world solutions to provide that knowledge, and will help mobile operators to make better financial decisions and plan for the future.”
In launching the new business unit, Mobilethink has appointed Lars Vestergaard as managing director of Mobilethink Analytics. Vestergaard has more than a decade of experience as an industry analyst with IDC in London and interfaced with mobile operators and vendors across the world during his tenure with the research firm.
