Mobilize Hires ex-dunnhumby MD as Executive Chairman

Mobilize, the company behind the SHOP SCAN SAVE mobile loyalty programme, has appointed former dunnhumby MD Steve Gray as its executive chairman.

Mobilizes patented technology links offers sent to a phone via text, WAP or mobile app with the retailers POS and loyalty systems in order to trigger price discounts or rewards.

Gray is the group chairman and former CEO of emnos, an international consultancy owned by Loyalty Partner that works with retail brands including Carrefour, Waitrose, Morrisons,Target, Camelot and British Gas specialising in consumer-centric growth solutions. Gray joined emnos in 2006 from dunnhumby UK & Ireland, the consumer insight company that is majority owned by Tesco. Gray became a director of Mobilize in November 2009, and says that from that position he has had the opportunity to evaluate Mobilizes potential in the marketplace. “From discussions with industry leaders in the retail and leisure sectors, it is clear that loyalty marketing is going mobile,” he says. “Given Mobilizes patented loyalty solution and proven success with key retail and telco partners to date, there is a major opportunity open to Mobilize.”
