Mobixell Launches Seamless Access 5

Mobile data solutions company Mobixell Networks has launched version 5 of its converged mobile internet solution, known as Seamless Access.

Seamless Access 5 allows networks to both optimise bourgeoning data traffic on mobile networks and further improve user experience, says the company.

Mobixell says the solution is more cost effective than the previous release. It offers device-aware web and video optimisation, support for new video formats including WebM/VP8, and content-aware algorithms that analyse video scene complexity and quality.

The new solution also offers a Smart Toolbar that lets operators offer subscribers control over how they consume mobile video in various circumstances. When roaming, users can switch to an economy lower quality mode. Seamless Access also transcodes media that is not native to the page being viewed – the company says this feature can bring Flash video support to iOS devices.

“For mobile subscribers, video is an important indicator of network quality. So Mobixell makes it a top priority to help mobile operators deliver high quality video and services, without undue increases in network investment,” says Noam Green, VP of marketing at Mobixell. “Seamless Access 5 makes it even easier for operators to deliver effectively optimised content, significantly reduce the cost of delivering that content, deliver new innovative services, and improve their subscribers user experience.”
