Mobile social network MocoSpace, which boasts over 11m registered users and 3bn monthly page view, has launched its first mobile app, built for Android phones. The app is designed around several popular features that are of most importance to its community, including finding friends, sharing photos, and chat.
The launch of the app follows the recent publication by MocoSpace of its Mobile Social Graph Report, in which it revealed that the number of Android users accessing the MocoSpace mobile website had grown by 40 per cent over the past six months and was growing faster than any other mobile platform.
Crucial to the creation of the MocoSpace app, the company says, was the desire to stay in keeping with the simplicity of the MocoSpace site, which makes the app clean, sharp, and user-friendly. The app offers live chat with friends currently on the app or on mobile site; instant photo uploads; profile viewing and commenting; and message notifications.
MocoSpace CEO Justin Siegel believes the new app will become “the best chat application on Android.” He says: “We’ve really listened to what our users want in developing this application. We know that our users love to communicate, so we’re committed to giving them the best mobile chat experience, to help people stay connected and have fun on their phones.”
