Morrison to Oversee Expansion into Mobile Video

Mobile media company mixipix has appointed Beverley Morrison as Group Managing Editor. In her new role, the former Scottish Media Group (SMG) Series Producer will oversee mixipixs expansion into mobile video.
Morrison has been a TV journalist, producer and director for 17 years. She has worked across various genres, including news and current affairs, childrens programming and drama. While producing the kids comedy, The Ice Cream Machine for C5 in 2004,  she conceived the idea of a mobile drama series, which she took to Scottish Media Group (SMG) and mobile handset manufacturer, imate. The resulting ten-part supernatural thriller, CJAQ, was the worlds first original made-for-mobile video drama.
I am delighted to join mixipix at a time when the mobile video revolution is finally taking off says Morrison. With more people than ever owning 3G and video-enabled phones, the broadcast industry is really waking up to the opportunities offered by this platform.
Set up in 2002 by Lesley Keen and Dr Kevin Bradshaw, mixipix markets its animated messaging and Mcard cartoon-creation services to blue-chip clients around the world. But with demand for Mobile TV content growing, mixipix says it sees a prime opportunity to use its mobile platform to deliver video as well as animation to mobile phones.
We are absolutely delighted that Beverley has joined the team says Keen. This is a time of rapid expansion for mixipix as we start to roll out our solutions with mobile marketing and media partners. Our strength in mobile, combined with our experience in the broadcast sector, places mixipix in an ideal position to take advantage of this new wave of mobile media distribution opportunities.
