Motorola Sharpens the Razr

As much as it might seem otherwise following the deluge of Lumia info, Nokia wasnt the only manufacturer to announce new handsets over the last 24 hours.

Motorola has unveiled three smartphones of its own – the Droid Razr M, Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD. Theyre the first devices released since the manufacturer was officially acquired by Google back in May and, unsurprisingly, they all run on Android.

With a 4.3″ display, the Razr M is the smallest of the three devices – but with what Motorola is calling an edge-to-edge screen, due to the reduced bezel around the display. The handset is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, and features NFC connectivity.

The Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD have roughly the same specs and features – 4.7″ display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, NFC – but the Maxx HDs selling point is its 3,300mAh battery, which promises 32 hours of mixed usage, 13 hours of video playback, or eight hours of web browsing.

All three handsets run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and are upgradeable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). In the US, theyll be available exclusively through Verizon.
