Canela Media hires Torres
Latina-owned digital media company, Canela Media has announced the appointment of Mario Torres to lead Canela Music, which is set to launch in the autumn.

Prior to joining Canela, Torres served as Vice President of Business Development at Latido Music, where he spearheaded new content programming, brand awareness and enhanced the company’s music video catalog. He previously developed and led SomosVevo, Vevo’s US Hispanic-focused strategy, where he increased Latin artists featured in the platform, developed a social media presence using music videos as cultural highlights, and created new revenue streams.Torres has also held positions at Univision, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and AOL, working with media brands to enhance content and audience engagement.

“Canela Media has built a platform that brings unique Hispanic content to Latinos like no other platform available on the market. As Canela.TV continues to reach new milestones, we look forward to building out the Canela brand into new digital formats with the same premise - built for Latinos, by Latinos” said Torres. 

Parcot joins Ogury 
Mobile brand advertising company, Ogury has hired Christophe Parcot as Chief Operating Officer.

Parcot has over 25 years of experience in leading processes and developing successful growth strategies. Previously Parcot worked with adtech company Teads, which sold to Altice, as Chief Operating Officer in 2014 and most recently acted as Chief Revenue Office of Solocal and created consulting company Sixt 5 Partners.

Sourcepoint makes series of hires
Data privacy software company for the digital marketing ecosystem, Sourcepoint has made a series of senior appointments - Jason Canney to Chief Technology Officer, Julie Rubash to Chief Privacy Counsel, and Jared Hand to Managing Director, North America. Nial Ferguson has also been promoted to Managing Director of UK and Ireland.

Canney brings with him more than 20 years experience in data, tech and OTT and will be critical in driving the  direction of Sourcepoint’s product offering in response to the shifting privacy landscape and driving business objectives.

Rubash has more than 15 years of legal and privacy experience, which will be integral to this foundationally important position at Sourcepoint. In addition to leading on all the legal efforts for Sourcepoint, Rubash will play a pivotal role in helping evolve the company product suite to ensure it is incorporating and adapting to the changing regulatory landscape.

Ferguson will oversee sales and customer success in the region, while Hand joins the company with a strong background in working with agencies and brands in the adtech and martech sectors and will help expand Sourcepoint’s presence across the US and Canada.

Digilant appoints new VP 
Omnichannel advertising services company, Digilant has appointed Sandra Abi-Rashed as VP of Client Services.

Abi-Rashed brings more than two decades of experience in digital media, marketing and publishing, on both the client and agency-consultancy sides. Before joining Digilant, she was Managing Partner for Happyfication, a data intelligence company. She has also held positions at TVA Publications, one of the largest media companies in Canada, where she was responsible for overseeing a wide range of publishing functions for brands such as ELLE. She holds an MBA from McGill University and certificates in Digital Transformation INSEAD and Prosci Change Management.

“Digilant and I share a passion for breaking silos in the media chain and using algorithms to increase business performance, and I’m looking forward to working with the team on new and existing clients alike” said Abi-Rashed.

Caulfield and McCormack join TeamSnap 
Sports management and communication software company, TeamSnap announced the hiring of two new leadership team members: Brian Caulfield as the new Chief Operating Officer and Nicole McCormack as General Manager of Advertising and Commerce.

Caulfield most recently worked as EVP, Chief Customer and Operations Officer at SS&C Intralinks, a secure collaboration software and secure online document sharing solution. Brian  was a core member of the leadership team that led Intralinks through multiple strategic and private equity acquisitions, and managed a global team of 250+ employees across sales, customer success, support and business operations.

Prior to joining TeamSnap, McCormack served as Head of Advertising Partnerships at Quibi, where she founded the advertising business and led sales efforts that secured $150M in advertising sponsorships from leading global brands in the company’s first year of operations. Prior to Quibi, she served as SVP of Revenue Strategy and Operations at Flipboard and VP of Integrated Sales at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. 

Wirex recruits Kong 
Digital payments platform, Wirex has appointed Jenny Kong as the new Global Head of Marketing, where she’ll manage the Marketing team from New Zealand.

The news follows her work co-founding the successful ‘Rising Women in Crypto Power List’ last year, and aligns with Wirex’s mission to show that crypto is open to all, and inclusion starts from within.

“Having entered the Wirex Marketing team in 2018, I was one of only a handful of women. I’m incredibly thrilled that in three years, over half the team members are female and we’ve almost tripled in size. This growth in representation has been amazing to be a part of, but we’re far from being done. With our mission to make crypto accessible to all, appealing to ‘all’ requires experiences and backgrounds from all walks of life. This needs to be reflected internally, fostering diversity at every level” said Kong.

Tubular Labs appoints new CSO 
Cross-platform digital video measurement and analytics data solution company, Tubular Labs has appointed Stephen DiMarco as its new Chief Digital Officer.

DiMarco made his first mark on the digital marketing and measurement industry as a founding management team member at Compete. DiMarco helped transform Compete into what is now Millward Brown Digital, where he became President and led the evolution of the company from digital-only brand lift measurement to outcomes-based effectiveness measurement across platforms including digital and TV. DiMarco went on to become the Chief Digital Officer of Kantar in 2018, a role he served in until his move to Tubular. 

Sim Local announces Chief Digital Development Officer 
SIM providers in the travel sector, Sim Local has appointed Paul Foley as its Chief Digital Development Officer.

Foley's career to date has spanned management consultancy, strategy development and customer management in the technology, telecoms and professional service sectors.  He brings a combination of strategic and commercial experience to Sim Local, with roles at Deloitte, PwC and Vodafone.  Most recently, he held the position of Director of Global Travel Partnerships at the travel technology company, CarTrawler.

DMPG makes three new hires 
Digital experience enablement agency, DMPG has bolstered its specialist Enablement team with three new hires; Rebecca Stringer has been appointed as Enablement Director, Angus Gough as Enablement Specialist, and Joanne White as Enablement Lead.

mParticle signs up Chew 
Independent customer data platform, mParticle has announced that Chee Chew will be joining the company as its Chief Product Officer.

Chew brings over 25 years of experience leading teams at Twilio, Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Previously, he was the Chief Product Officer at Twilio where he oversaw the execution of the company's roadmap, and a number of acquisitions and investments. Prior to Twilio, he was the VP of Consumer Engagement at Amazon and was responsible for its machine learning personalization, performance marketing,  and core online shopping experience. Chee also served as VP of Engineering at Google where he was responsible for Google's real time communication products, including the invention of Google Hangouts.
