Lakhani is the IAB’s first head of ad tech
IAB UK has appointed its current ad tech manager, Tina Lakhani, as its first head of ad tech. In her new role, she will formulate and communicate the IAB’s position on key ad tech issues, be an expert resource for its members and become a voice for the sector at an industry-wide level.

Current priorities include the development of the IAB’s Gold Standard and coordinating a cross-industry solution to the end of third-party cookies. Lakhani will also continue to work with the digital advertising industry to deliver on its response to the ICO’s ‘Update report into adtech and real-time bidding’.

“With the end of third-party cookies in sight and our ongoing work to address the ICO’s report well underway, it’s crucial that the right expertise is brought to the table,” said IAB UK’s chief digital officer, Tim Elkington. “With her in-depth knowledge of the industry, Tina is perfectly placed to deliver this and ensure that our ad tech members are getting the support they need. Her prior experience of managing the Gold Standard will also be instrumental as we evolve the initiative and continue to champion industry best practice.”

Holt takes up the reins as MD at Acast
Podcast firm Acast has appointed Georgina Holt as managing director for the UK, Ireland and ROW regions. Holt joins from The Stylist Group, following a three-year stint where she was most recently executive director of Stylist Studios, and will be responsible for driving commercial and content growth for Acast.

Acast’s content catalogue of almost 10,000 podcats accrues more than 215m listens each month. Alongside her sales responsibilities, Holt will continue to grow this portfolio and add new shows to the Acast network.

Acast CEO Ross Adams said: “The most important thing for us in every new hire we make is a cultural fit – it’s our number one priority as we look to maintain and grow as a business, and it was clear very early on that Georgina was exactly who we were looking for. Our sales and podcast teams are our biggest teams in every market in which we operate, so her background will also prove vital as we look to build on our offering for publishers, independent podcasters and advertisers alike.

“Naturally, it’s difficult to find senior talent with experience of a pure podcasting background, as the medium is still so young, so, as a challenger brand, we also look for leaders who have the ethos and attitude to bring something new to the table while ensuring we continue our global success. Georgina is the perfect person for the role.”
