James Shepherd has become Head of Mobile at Havas Media Group and Mobext, placing him in charge of the company's mobile capability and tasking him with building long-term, tactical and strategic growth and delivering innovative mobile marketing solutions for clients including O2, Nationwide and Ubisoft.

"James brings a wealth of experience in the field of mobile and is a key addition to the team," said Julia Jordan, managing director of Havas Media Group Investment and Digital. "With his expertise, James will be a vital asset as we continue to advance our cross-media offer with other Havas Media Pure Players such as Affiperf, Ecselis and Socialyse."

Michael Evans, former banker with Goldman Sachs, has joined Alibaba as its president, overseeing the company's impending global expansion and working hard to restore the firm's reputation with foreign brands after it was accused of being complicit in the sale of fake goods through its websites.

Tracx hires industry veteran Rick Rudman as CEO
Social management platform Tracx has appointed Rick Rudman as the company's new CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Rudman was recently CEO and Chairman of public relations firm Vocus, a company he co-founded and led through a successful IPO to a sale for close to $500m (£322m).
