Muzicall, which provides ringback tone (RBT) services in Europe, has appointed Lourens de Beer and Lee Fenton as founder members of its newly-established advisory board. They will be joined by Muzicall Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Mark Collins and Telecoms Consultant Jeff Owen. The advisory board will guide the company as it builds upon the recent increase in RBT users in the UK and prepares for rapid growth.
De Beer is currently Managing Director of Net Mobile UK, which provides mobile services and solutions to brands including Channel 4, Global Radio and Bauer Radio. De Beer also provides mobile services and consulting to global media companies such as Sony Pictures and Universal Pictures.
Fenton is the COO at Gamesys Group, which owns www.jackpotjoy.com, a cross-platform instant win and bingo entertainment brand, and www.botemania.com, which is a a Spanish language bingo and casino site.
We are on the cusp of significant exponential growth, and that is why we established the advisory board, says Muzicall CEO, Patrick Allainguillaume. Ringback tones are already hugely popular in the US and Asia, where in some territories penetration is as high as 50%. In Europe, the systemic issues that have prevented similar growth are close to being resolved, and we want to position our company to take maximum advantage of the demand that will be unlocked.
