Mobile technology company Qualcomm have had a busy week at Mobile World Congress. Probably the biggest news for the manufacturer was the introduction of its Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, which features the Adreno 320 GPU.

“Snapdragon S4 and S4 Pro are designed to enable tablets and notebook devices to deliver the high performance, flexibility, 3G and 4G connectivity, and energy efficiency consumers are increasingly demanding,” says Luis Pineda, senior vice president of computing and consumer products.

The company announced that, through its Wireless Reach initiative, it will also be collaborating with the Vodafone Spain Foundation and the APROCOR Foundation on the Augmented Reality for e-labora project, aiming to help intellectually disabled workers.

Qualcomm also revealed its augmented reality platform, Vuforia, on show at its stand. The first-ever LTE live video broadcast was demoed there, as well as latest HSPA+ and LTE Advanced Hetnets and upcoming H265 video encoding standard. The company collaborated with Microsofts MWC presence for the preview of the Snapdragon-powered Windows 8 for ARM Tablets.

Finally, Snapdragon processors were at work behind the scenes in many of the MWC handsets announcements – including Panasonics ELUGA Power, the HTC One series, and Nokias new Lumia handsets. Qualcomm chips will also power the smartphones produced in the joint venture between Telefonica and Mozilla.
