MxO Event Secures MMA, IAB, WIP Support

MxO (Mobile Opportunities Expo & Trend Conference), which is being staged by Hamburg Messe and Congress, has announced the support of leading mobile advertising industry trade bodies, the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe for the event, which takes place in Hamburg in October. MxO has also secured the supported of WIP (Wireless Industry Partnership), which runs the WIPJam global mobile developer events.

The inaugural MxO event takes place in Hamburg from 6 – 7 October, 2011, and according to the organisers, will extend an inspiring expo and trend conference into a city experience.

With a growing trend for new devices and services that put mobile first, MxO aims to foster the networking of app developers, technology providers, agencies and brands to promote innovation, and bring mobile strategies closer to the consumer.

“Part of the MMAs mission is to promote the innovation of its global members,” says Paul Berney, the MMA’s CMO and managing director for EMEA, and a recent addition to the MxO advisory board. “Engaging brands and agencies to showcase ways in which to involve the consumer beyond the expo floor is an inspiring concept that we like about MxO, and we are excited to be a part of it.”

MxO will focus on how mobile is cross-pollinating business opportunities and innovation in advertising & media, music & entertainment, games & social media, lifestyle & fashion, retail & shopping, auto & travel, and many more industry sectors.

In addition to the MMA, IAB and WIP, MxO has also secured the support of Mobile Monday; Hamburg@work, the business development organization of the city of Hamburg for the digital economy; and MLOVE, organizer of the MLOVE ConFestival and international workshop camps.
