NeoMedia Technologies, which specializes in mobile barcode scanning solutions, has launched the next generation of its barcode management platform, NeoSphere. In 2011, usage on the NeoSphere platform has reached record highs, experiencing an 1800 per cent year-on-year growth rate, which the firm says demonstrates the increased traction of mobile barcodes with brands, marketers, agencies and consumers.

NeoSphere offers brands, marketers and agencies a simple way of integrating 2D barcodes to make any media, such as product packaging, retail displays or publications, immediately interactive, relevant, targeted and measurable. The upgrade to the platform offers NeoMedia’s clients an enhanced user experience and additional functionality, enabling brands, marketers and agencies to implement multiple codes in various creative executions, to determine which channel or iteration is most effective. NeoSphere also offers more efficient barcode handling and support for many more code types, including UPC, EAN and ISBN; and enhanced analytics and reporting, delivering meaningful and flexible charts to analyze a broader range of statistics for consumers’ interaction.
