Nerdio bags $117 million investment to power its desktop-as-a-service mission

UK firm Nerdio has just completed a Series B round of $117 million led by growth equity company Updata Partners.

It says it will use the funds will to double its headcount and expand its presence into new regions following recent growth across UK, EMEA, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Brazil. Nerdio previously raised a $8 million Series A round in February 2020.

Nerdios speciality is desktop-as-a-service. It targets companies that are looking to deploy virtual desktops that use Microsoft technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and Intune.

It says that desktop-as-a-service can simplify management and lower compute and storage costs by up to 80 per cent compared to unoptimised Azure environments.

Nerdio is now gearing up for its annual partner conference, NerdioCon, which starts on February 27 in Cancun, Mexico.
