Netbiscuits has completed the first joint integration of the Netbiscuits Mobile Platform with Sitecore CMS (Content Management System) for two exhibition mobile websites for the Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM).
The mobile sites were developed on Netbiscuits Sitebuilder technology and Sitecores exposed feeds and web services. Featuring a drag and drop user interface, Sitebuilder seamlessly integrates with the Netbiscuits Platform to enable instant cross-platform publishing of mobile websites. Sitecore is an enterprise-class .NET content management solution that enables users to maintain and publish content across multiple channels, including mobile.
The sites, at http://m.titanicexhibition.anmm.gov.au and http://m.fishexhibition.anmm.gov.au offer details on the content of the exhibitions, ticketing, events and special offers as well as complete integration of the Museums’ social engagements on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and its blog. Text and media content stored and managed in Sitecore is seamlessly pulled and rendered by Netbiscuits, optimized for any mobile phone or Tablets.
“To build a mobile site for an exhibition was a first for the ANMM,” says Karen Holt, IT manager for the Museum. “We consciously decided to go for a mobile site instead of developing maintenance-heavy native apps. In Netbiscuits we found the right technology to bring these two special, non-permanent exhibitions to the mobile public in a timely and budget friendly manner. We were impressed by the speed in which our exhibition PC sites were transformed into mobile sites. We have obtained a sustainable and highly scalable software architecture through which future exhibitions can be propelled online by Sitecore and Netbiscuits within literally just days.”
