Netbiscuits Expands Singaporean Operations

Mobile development company Netbiscuits has announced that it is to expand its operations in Singapore to pursue opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company is to establish its software development hub in Singapore, which it says is a “stable, transparent business environment, with a highly skilled workforce”.

“Singapore is a great base for Netbiscuits as many global players have their regional headquarters in the Island Republic,” says Michael Neidhoefer, CEO of Netbiscuits. “By developing a team of software engineers as well as a local sales and support organisation we will be able to meet the fast-paced demands of our Asia-based customers and provide a high level of product quality and professional services.”

Netbiscuits says it has made a priority to recruit and develop local talent as part of its global strategy. The Singapore team has increased from an initial three to eleven with further staff being hired.

The company has received the help of the Singapore governments Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), which facilitates the growth of the ICT industry in Singapore by providing developmental support to technology companies wishing to enter the highly-competitive Asia market.

Neidhoefer says: “We are extremely delighted to receive the Singapore Governments assistance and are impressed with the initiatives made available to develop Singapore as an innovative regional technology hub. Netbiscuits recognises the high growth market for our mobile solutions platform in the region. With the resources allocated to us over the next few years, Netbiscuits will drive the development of its core mobile publishing platform and train and develop local Singaporean software developers.”

“With Singapore being at the confluence of growth markets in Asia, and with mobile devices being the primary mode of access to the internet in many of these markets, companies based here have the opportunity to grow rapidly if they offer innovative mobile internet services,” says Andrew Khaw, senior director, industry development group at the IDA. “Software technologies offered by industry players such as Netbiscuits, will help catalyse such innovations.”
