Mobile commerce and communications enabler Netsize has published a White Paper entitled Unlocking the Value of Mobile Commerce.
The White Paper looks at consumers’ increasing acceptance of mobile commerce, and reports on the findings of the Netsize Mobile Trends Survey of over 1,000 mobile professionals across 67 countries, which found that the vast majority of respondents are ready and willing to buy high-ticket items via their phone.
While almost all respondents said they would be “very likely” or “somewhat likely” to buy goods totalling up to €25 (£21) using their mobile phones, 83 per cent indicated that they would be willing to pay for items such as concert tickets (valued at amounts up to €50) via their mobile.
The White Paper also notes that payment mechanisms are critical to the quality of the mobile shopping experience, with 60 per cent of respondents saying that a choice of methods of payment is important to them.
The White Paper concludes that mobile commerce is poised to reach new heights provided the industry addresses some key issues, most notably, removing the regulatory barriers that can make mobile commerce a challenge, and providing consumers with a choice of payment methods.
