[img_assist|nid=26417|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=201|height=78]The New York Times Idea Lab has created a range of rich-media ads and improved the targeting capabilities on its iPad news app.
The TimesAction ads enable advertisers to offer in-app purchases from iTunes or an app download, click-to-download coupons which are saved and synced in the iOS Photo Stream, calendar reminder functions and 360-degree pans within the new units. Other Idea Lab ad functions now on offer include wipe away images and product zoom.
The ad project came from the New York Times’ Innovation Challenge, an internal contest that encourages employees to develop prototypes and designs for potential apps.
