NewBay Software, which provides mobile community solutions has revealed that Orange Photography has achieved over 1 million mobile photo uploads in its first five months of service, using NewBays PIXOTA mobile imaging client.
Orange UK deployed PIXOTA to enhance the user experience and increase uploads to the Orange Photography album service. The PIXOTA client is being pre-installed on a range of handsets, providing the ability for customers to upload pictures at full resolution.
NewBay PIXOTA is a handset client that enables quick and easy uploading of high resolution camera phone pictures, enabling Orange users to easily share, store, publish and print their images. With PIXOTA, once the photo is taken, the user instantly receives a pop-up prompt offering a simple choice of sending to the Orange Photography service or to another phone user with a single click. The client also enables several images to be sent at a time for easy multiple uploads.
In addition, says NewBay, the PIXOTA client solves the problem of uploading full-quality pictures from a cameraphone by sending via http rather than MMS.
We are thrilled with the success so far of Orange Photography, which is without a doubt due to the installation of NewBay PIXOTA on our handsets says Orange Marketing Director of Multimedia and Convergence, Alistair Johnston. Our subscribers want to be able to instantly share their high quality cameraphone photos and NewBays PIXOTA makes this easy. We are committed to providing a positive subscriber experience for all our services and the PIXOTA user-friendly client software means that photos can be posted to Orange Photography service or sent to friends with one single click. It couldnt be easier.
The PIXOTA client is available for download on the Nokia 6230i, 6280, 6630, 6680, N70 and is pre-installed on a range of Nokia and Sony Ericsson handsets, including the Nokia N80.
