NewspaperDirect Updates PressReader

NewspaperDirect has updated its PressReader app for iOS4. The app delivers intelligent XML versions of 1,750 full-content newspapers. Readers can view the newspapers as graphics or text, or have them read. Stories can easily be shared via social media or email.

PressReader V2.2 is compatible with iOS 4.2, sports a bold, new look, and incorporates dozens of user requests, including faster page navigation; smoother operation; and simplified downloading and auto-delivery of newspaper subscriptions. It also offers an improved message format when sharing an article via Facebook; the ability to wirelessly print full pages and individual articles to AirPrint-enabled printers; and the ability to exclude downloaded publications when backing up via iTunes.

To use PressReader, set up your account at www.pressdisplay.com, decide which papers you want to subscribe to, and then PressReader automatically downloads fresh editions to your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. All subscriptions and downloads of newspaper editions on PressReader count towards ABC circulation.
“NewspaperDirect is committed to continually innovating in mobile application development to create an immersive user experience second to none, both for readers and for our publishers, a number of whom white-label the app for their brand-loyal subscribers,” says NewspaperDirect CEO, Alex Kroogman. “This highly-anticipated upgrade of PressReader is just the first step in the evolution of a whole new design for the product, which will not only form the basis of our iPad app, but will be the platform for all the new tablets hitting the market in coming months.”
