Nintendo Enabling Mobile Developers to Port to Wii U

Nintendo is reportedly opening up its Wii U console to apps ported from mobile devices .

According to The Japan Times, the company has begun offering conversion software to app developers that enables them to directly transfer existing apps over to its games console, which uses a touchscreen controller which closely resembles a tablet device.

Its part of an effort to bring the company back to profitability, after poor sales of the Wii U led to Nintendo reporting an operating loss of ¥36.4bn (£237m) for 2012.
