The long-awaited release of the mobile version of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing is finally on the horizon, with the game set to arrive toward the end of next month.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp brings the popular community simulation video game to mobile devices for free. As opposed to original console release of the game, the mobile version puts the player in charge of a campsite instead of becoming mayor of a town. Of course, the player is a human surrounded by anthropomorphic animals.
In the game, players can explore the world – on their camper van – to find items to help them craft furniture for their campsite. In addition, the game features ‘Leaf tickets’, which can be used to supplement any materials the player is running low on. These tickets can be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money – because microtransactions.
Activities in the game include catching fish and bugs, journeying around various locations chatting to animals and other campsite managers, shopping at the market place for different pieces of furniture or to customise your look, stylising the camper van, and enjoying seasonal events and holidays.
