O2 NetflixO2 has joined forces with Netflix to offer customers access to the popular streaming video-on-demand (SVOD) service through some of its available tariffs.

The partnership will enable new and upgrading O2 customers to claim a six or 12-month Netflix subscription as a gift on eligible O2 Refresh, tablets, dongles, and SIM only contracts.

The 12-month offer is available on O2 Refresh tariffs of 25GB and above, while customers will gain six months Netflix access on the 15GB O2 Refresh tariff; SIM only deals of 18GB and above; pocket hotspot and dongles of 18GB and above; and tablets of 5GB and above.

“We are totally thrilled to ink this new partnership with O2” said Maria Ferreras, VP of buusiness development EMEA at Netflix. “With this promotion, O2 mobile customers will be able to easily access Netflix’s critically acclaimed original content and enjoy a new way of watching entertainment.”

On top of the Netflix access, O2 are going to double the data on certain contracts, so customers can enjoy more of the TV and video content wherever they are.

However, both the free Netflix subscription and the double data offer will only be available until 8 August.

“We’re partnering with Netflix to bring amazing movies and shows to our customers, and with double the data we’re making it even easier for customers to watch their favourite shows or share moments with friends and family,” said Nina Bibby, CMO at O2.

O2’s deal with Netflix comes just a week after Vodafone penned a deal with Amazon to provide Prime Video as part of its mobile packages.

This partnership means that new and upgrading customers on Vodafone’s Red Entertainment package are eligible to receive up to 24 months of unlimited Prime Video access.
