Fashion retailer Oasis has selected ExactTarget to power its email and text message marketing campaigns throughout the UK and Ireland.
Oasis, which operates more than 400 stores around the globe, has replaced its existing email marketing system with ExactTargets Enterprise Edition software, which enables the company to connect with consumers via email and text, from a single web-based platform.
Although email is a viable way to drive online sales, it is critical to also interact with customers on a personal level whilst they are actually in-store and browsing, says Oasis Headof Ciommmunications, Jean-Claude Mighty. Integrating text messaging into our email marketing program will allow us to better connect with customers in-store and online on a more personal and one-to-one basis.
Oasis will rely on ExactTargets integration with web analytics provider Coremetrics to automatically build and trigger purchase confirmation text messages and emails featuring special offers based on customers shopping habits and location. Oasis also plans to invite shoppers to subscribe to its promotional emails and discount offers via text messaging in store.
The primary objective for the SMS text messaging campaign is to expand the reach of our email campaigns, adds Mighty. ExactTargets ability to aggregate subscriber data from both email and text messaging in the same system will allow us to improve our service and use the most relevant channel to communicatd with our customers. It also enables us to interact with customers in-store and engage with consumers in real time.
The two companies are currently working to transfer subscriber lists into ExactTargets enterprise software and plan to begin sending email and text message communications ahead of the up-coming Christmas holiday season.
