VAS company OnMobile Global is to launch ring-back tone (RBT) services in Africa through a partnership with Unitel, Angolas largest operator.
OnMobile Global has deployed a RBT platform for Unitel that allows users to set a song to replace the standard tone that is usually heard by callers while they wait for their call to be answered.
Miguel Martins, CEO and board member at Unitel, says: “After achieving such penetration in the Angolan market, it became evident that the market is sophisticated enough to consume the innovative services that Unitel is capable of delivering.”
Arvind Rao, CEO, chairman and co-founder of OnMobile says: “OnMobile is extremely pleased about the partnership with Unitel. The initial numbers and success achieved bear testimony to the immense potential of this venture. We are hoping that our ability to innovate in any market that we operate in combined with our cutting edge products will pave the way for enhancing our product portfolio and help introduce a wider range of products for Unitel subscribers.”
