Ooyala launches Flex Media Platform to simplify video operations

OOT video specialists Ooyala have unveiled a new extensible video production and delivery platform that aims to simplify and streamline the process of managing, curating, publishing and monetising video content. The Ooyala Flex Media Platform is a content supply chain optimisation platform, and leverages the firm’s experience working with cloud-based solutions.

The Flex Media Platform is designed to provide media content owners and production companies with customisable workflows, as well as seamlessly integrating third party tools and enabling users to work with a common data set across the entire video operation to gain deeper insights, improve customer experience, and increase content ROI.

Ooyala is hoping that the platform will provide customers with a unified framework that can be used to optimise the entire content supply chain, and is capable of being configured and developed to meet specific needs. The platform also enables firms to access Ooyala’s powerful analytics solution to collect data and insights at every stage of the content lifecycle in order to make more informed decisions.

“We are solving one of the media industry’s biggest pain points – how to get the most engaging content to market faster at a lower cost,” said Jonathan Huberman, CEO of Ooyala. “And what we’re hearing today from all broadcasters, studios, media companies and enterprises is that they need efficient tools that easily integrate in order to product, manage and distribute content profitably.

“This is today’s behind-the-scenes media revolution – a new paradigm in which no company wants to be tied to a proposed ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution, or individual solutions from multiple vendors or legacy systems that cannot be integrated. Content owners and production companies need a solution that can streamline the entire process from creation to syndication, and ultimately distribution across devices.”
