OpenAI launches content partnership with TIME

OpenAI has launched a multi-year content deal with TIME.

The move is designed to integrate TIME’s journalism into OpenAI’s products, such as ChatGPT and allows the technology giant to access current and historical content from TIME’s 101-year-old archives.

According to the company, the deal enhances its offering to user questions with citations and links back to the original sources on Time.com.

Meanwhile, the partnership also allows TIME to access OpenAI’s technology to develop new products for its audiences, with the media giant offering feedback and sharing practical applications to refine and improve the delivery of journalism in ChatGPT and other OpenAI products.

OpenAI Chief Operating Officer, Brad Lightcap, said: “We’re partnering with TIME to make it easier for people to access news content through our AI tools, and to support reputable journalism by providing proper attribution to original sources.
