Lebanese mobile operator Alfa has selected Openwave Systems’ Integra next-generation service mediation and policy management solution to allow it to effectively manage, monitor and monetise mobile traffic. Alfa has upgraded to Integra from Openwave’s Mobile Access Gateway (MAG) solution.
Openwave says that Integare provides network operators an evolutionary roadmap with several benefits, including the reduction of total cost of ownership through a single point of policy control and management for mobile data services; scaling capabilities to support 3G and 4G service deployments; cost-efficient evolutionary roadmaps from existing WAP gateways to next-generation data architecture; seamless backward compatibility with WAP infrastructure; and support for highly differentiated services across a number of service protocols, including HTTP, HTML and RTSP/RTP/RDT.
