Orange – the telco previously known as France Telecom – has signed a partnership with oil and gas company Total to distribute Orange Money at all Total service stations in 13 countries across Africa and the Middle East.
Orange Money is a mobile-to-mobile payment transfer service which the operator has rolled out across the region.
Through the deal, consumers will be able to open an Orange Money account and make withdrawals and deposits at the Total stations. A forthcoming second stage of deployment will enable Orange Money customers to pay for purchases made in the stations using their mobile.
