Over Half of UK iPad Owners are Annoyed by the iPad 4

54 per cent of iPad owners in the UK are disgruntled with Apples unveiling of an iPad 4, according to Toluna QuickSurveys. The announcement came barely six months after the release of the last generation of iPads, and a backlash seems inevitable. Americans are slightly less bothered though, with 45 per cent of US iPad owners unhappy with the announcement.

The iPad Mini has been welcomed a lot more warmly, however. 11 per cent of respondents in the UK say they will definitely buy one, and a further 33 per cent say they will probably buy one.

The Kindle Fire, which also has a 7″ screen, is still the more popular option, though, with 43 per cent of respondents picking it over the iPad, at 39 per cent. Googles Nexus 7, meanwhile, lagged behind with only 18 per cent saying theyd choose to buy it.

The iPad has completely dominated the tablet space since its launch – so it coming second to an Android device is a pretty big surprise. Could Apples devoted fanbase be starting to lose interest?

37 per cent of UK respondents said Apple’s reputation has been tarnished by the problems with its iOS 6 Maps app – again, Apple fans in the US seem more determined, with only 26 per cent agreeing. 45 per cent, meanwhile, believe Apple is an inferior company since the passing of Steve Jobs and his replacement as CEO by Tim Cook.
