Pandora Reveals Marketing Tools for Artists and Labels

iphone pandoraMusic streaming service Pandora has unveiled the new iteration of its Artist Marketing Platform (AMP), that provides musicians and record labels with a suite of marketing tools to connect with their fans.

In addition to providing artists and labels with valuable data about how an artists music is performing on the service, the platform enables users to launch campaigns promoting their music using a variety of formats.

“Our mission has always been to offer every artist the opportunity to find their audience on Pandora – a fan base of more than 78m of the most engaged listeners in streaming music today,” said Sara Clemens, chief operating officer and head of Pandoras music maker group. “AMP eliminates guesswork, helps break new artists, surfaces new music from established artists and creates new revenue streams.”

Among the tools offered by AMP are audio advertisements, featured tracks and AMPcast, an audio messaging tool which connects with social media and can be geotargeted. AMPcast was launched earlier this year in beta, but will now be available to all AMP users.

“AMP is proof of Pandoras commitment to improving the lives of musicians and supporting our industry,” said Avery Lipman, president and co-founder of Republic Records. “Its the most targeted and efficient set of promotional tools available and it helps us reach a massive audience.

“The latest updates actually make it even better and we will use it across our roster to let fans know of initiatives and to break new artists. Ariana Grande recorded a series of artist audio messages to support the release of Dangerous Woman that encourages listeners to preorder the album. The click through rate was five to seven times what we saw for social and paid channels and drove significant preorders.”
