Parago Launches Rebate Shopping App

Consumer incentive firm Parago has teamed up with app development agency Bottle Rocket to launch an app that lets shoppers in the US take advantage of rebate (money-back) offers.

GoRebate Mobile for Android and iOS allows marketers to deliver rebates directly to the devices of value-seeking consumers. Its the first consumer-facing offering from Parago.

The free app shows users rebate schemes based on their location, and users can browse rebate opportunities in their area by retailer or product category. Consumers can also share rebate promotions with their friends via text, email, Facebook or Twitter, or tag offers for a reminder at a later date.

The app has sensitivity features built in that prevent a user being pointlessly alerted to offers while driving at speed. The app knows when to re-query Paragos server on rate of movement. It will only send notifications of nearby rebates when the user has slowed or come to a stop. The app also allows users to track rebates to see where they are in the rebate process.

“We are dedicated to helping our clients drive successful promotional programs,” says Juli Spottiswood, president and CEO of Parago. “GoRebate Mobile provides access to the exponentially growing demographic of price-savvy consumers that rely on their smartphones to shop and research deals. As the industry leader in rebates, it is imperative to drive this innovation on behalf of our clients and their customers. Marketing and consumer expectations are rapidly evolving, and we are able to deliver the innovation and technology to push our clients to the forefront.”

“Parago identified a huge opportunity in shopper marketing,” says Calvin Carter, president of Bottle Rocket. “GoRebate Mobile leverages the latest technology in shopping and geo-location technology to deliver customers directly to retailers and manufacturers. We are thrilled with the end result of this partnership.”
