ParcelGenie Launches on iOS and Android

Instant gifting app ParcelGenie has launched on iOS and Android. The app launched on Windows Phone 7 last October, and allows users to send real gifts to friends and contacts using just their mobile number.

The service works by taking payment when a gift is sent. The app then sends gift recipients a text alert. The recipient gets a message from the sender, and is invited to text back a mailing address, which goes to the dispatching company and the gift is immediately sent in the post.

Gifts are deliberately small and inexpensive, says the company – users can send the likes of chocolate, key rings, badges or bath bombs.

“ParcelGenie adds a new dimension to communication and offers mobile phone users the chance to send real little gifts spontaneously, instantly, and affordably,” says John Taylor, CEO of ParcelGenie. “The move to iPhone and Android is an exciting step following the successful launch on Windows Phone 7 – itself a milestone event that has left a wake of excellent consumer and industry feedback. We are delighted to offer our service on iPhone and Android.”
