Passworks Launches Mobile Wallet Platform with $1m Backing

PassworksPortuguese startup Passworks has launched its platform for creating and managing mobile wallet marketing campaigns in beta, supported by $1m (£0.6m) seed funding from Faber Ventures, which has worked with the company from the start, and Portugal Ventures.

Passworks’ solution is offered as a web-based platform or API which can be used to design digital coupons, loyalty cards or tickets and deliver them to consumers via social networks and email. These passes can be stored in native mobile wallet apps for the three largest mobile OS: Passbook, Google Wallet and Windows Wallet.

The platform also includes real-time analytics, and can be used for push notifications and location-based triggers – either using geo-location or in-store beacons – to notify anyone who has downloaded the pass that it can be redeemed nearby

“We’re entering the age where technology, branding and retail are really starting to work together to create an effective method of delivering targeting offers to consumers,” said Passworks founder and CEO Francisco Belo. “Passworks is the way to get your brand’s message direct to consumers’ pockets.”

The platform is available globally in beta, with a full launch planned for June.
