Pay-as-you-go gym company payasUgym.com has deployed a mobile payment and redemption solution from mobile marketing firm, 2ergo.
The system comes ahead of a rapid expansion plan for the gym company, which is aiming to treble the number of gyms it offers, from its current selection of 120.
The system puts mobile at the heart of the payasUgym business model, says the company. Customers log on to payasugym.com, register, credit their account and select their gym of choice. A voucher is then sent to their mobile device and is redeemed at the selected gym to gain entry. The solution also allows the capture of customer data, providing the business with a platform to create its own mobile marketing campaigns.
John Stevens, Group managing director of 2ergo, says: “The mobile payment system uses vouchers, which are a perfect mechanic to manage entry into gyms. By deploying the technology, payasUgym.com has created a business model that can provide health clubs with incremental revenue, supplementing income from membership programmes.
“The use of mobile technology provides wider marketing opportunities because data can be captured about customers and their interests, which can be used to deliver other messages and promotions. In short, payasUgym.com is a simple, profitable and scalable business, with huge potential for national expansion.”
