Screwfix has become the first UK-based trade supplier to sell payleven’s mobile chip & PIN reader, in a move that could seal it as the default mPOS company for Britains tradespeople.
Screwfix is offering the card reader at a discounted rate of £82.50 (usually £99), along with £27.50 worth of transaction credit. This equates to £1,000 worth of free transactions, which are charged at a flat rate of 2.75 per cent.
The device, which works with an Android or iOS app via bluetooth, will be on sale from August in Screwfix, along with its sister companies Plumbfix and Electricfix. It can be bought online, over the phone or in store. payleven is also stocked at Apple Stores in the UK, putting it in prime position to take the lead in the crowded mPOS market.
payleven went on sale in February and also operates in Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland.
