PayPal Aims to Simplify App Payments with One Touch

ebayeBays PayPal unit has revealed a new system that aims to make paying for items within mobile apps a streamlined process.

The system, called PayPal One Touch, would introduce the pay with PayPal functionality found on many websites to apps, making payment as simple as clicking a single button once users have logged in once with their PayPal account.

The system is very similar to the Venmo Touch service offered by Braintree, who were acquired by PayPal last year. According to Braintree, who are currently working on integrating Bitcoin payments into eBay, Venmo Touch will continue to function, giving consumers a choice of systems, although it is likely PayPals One Touch will receive a wider launch and more support from its parent company.

A consumer launch date for One Touch hasnt been revealed yet, but developers are already able to sign up for beta testing.
