Crowdfunded smart watch Pebble is to go on sale in retail stores for the first time this weekend, in an exclusive deal with Best Buy in the US.
The iOS and Android compatible smart watch is the most successful Kickstarter project to date, raising more than $10.2m from 68,000 people since the idea went live in April last year.
The device, which pairs with the app to notify users of texts, emails and calls, as well as working as a media controller, can now be bought online now at BestBuy for $149.99 or will be on offer in stores from Sunday. The first batch for those who had pre-ordered their Pebble watch started shipping January.
Pebbles open source platform enables developers to create their own custom apps. It has also been integrated with existing sports platforms like RunKeeper and FreeCaddie, with more to come.
