Penske Truck Rental Launches Mobile Site

US truck rental company Penske has launched a mobile version of its website. Consumers can now make bookings for truck rental via an optimised site on their smartphones. The site was designed by digital marketing agency Acquity Group.

“The number of mobile visitors to our consumer truck rental website has tripled in the last year,” says Brandie Searle, director of interactive marketing at Penske Truck Leasing. “With smartphone ownership more than doubling in the last two years, the time was right to introduce a mobile version for our customers.”

Penskes mobile site uses larger navigational items, simple icons and minimal text to make it easy for consumers to use.

“Our usability studies indicate our mobile version will greatly reduce the amount of time needed to reserve a Penske moving truck and any other moving accessories and supplies using a smartphone,” says Searle.

The app also includes a rental location finder, and a shortcut to contact the companys roadside assistance service.

Penske has a fleet of over 200,000 vehicles, and serves customers from more than 1,000 locations in the US, S. America, Europe, and Asia.
