Pernord Ricard App Sticks On a Moustache to Promote Oddka

Spirits company Pernod Ricard is launching an app to help promote Oddka, its new vodka brand.
With a range of unusual flavours – including wasabi, popcorn and that old classic, electricity – its no surprise that Oddka is trying to cultivate a quirky image.
“Oddka was created for the individual who seeks brands that are confident, expressive and challenge the norms, just like they do,” said Maxime Kouchnir, vice president, Pernod Ricard USA.
And what greater symbol of quirky individuality is there than the fake moustache?
The ODDstache iOS app overlays a cartoon moustache onto a photo of the users choice, which then provides them with a Tamagotchi-like game which charges with them with grooming and feeding the facial fuzz. Doing so – as well as sharing the app on Facebook – will cause the moustache to level up, revealing new variations of soup strainer.
