Peugeot launches Where can a full charge take you? EV campaign on TikTok

Car maker Peugeot has launched a campaign on TikTok that aims to debunk myths surrounding electric vehicles. The campaign, which runs until the end of December, features a diverse range of creators, who drive far and wide in the new Peugeot fully electric e-208 and e-2008 to show just how far an electric vehicle can take them. It also sees entrepreneur and edutainer @maxklymenko, travel lover @lotteeboo3 and dad @rubberhobo tackling common misconceptions about how long it takes to charge electric cars.

With the Where can a full charge take you? campaign, Peugeot has also become the first auto maker to run TikToks Spark Ads solution in the UK. The native ad format enables brands to amplify organic videos and target relevant audiences on TikTok.

“Peugeot launched its first, new-generation electric vehicle, the e-208, at the beginning of 2020 and since then we’ve added an electrified variant to 70 per cent of models within our range,” said Peugeot Marketing Director, Steven Wass. “100 per cent of our range will have an electrified version by 2024. As our electric vehicle offerings grow, it’s important we support our customers, or potential customers, in understanding this new technology and dispelling the myths surrounding it.

“With the conversations already happening on TikTok around electric vehicles and sustainability, it was a great platform to use to launch this campaign and allowed the creators to bring their content to life in an engaging and innovative way.”

A burgeoning community of car fans are finding a home on TikTok, illustrated by the #CarsofTikTok hashtag receiving over 23.9bn views and the #EV hashtag topping 2bn views. Alongside this #sustainability (518m views) continues to be high on the agenda for the TikTok community, with people sharing how they are doing their bit for the environment.
