Pinterest has launched Android and iPad apps for its online scrapbooking social network. The apps join its existing iPhone app – which has also seen an update, introducing a new two-column layout option – and mobile web app.
The iPad app, which features gesture navigation and an embedded browser, seems to have had particular attention lavished on it – with the company claiming it might be the best Pinterest experience yet.
“The Pinterest apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android are about enabling you to do just that, not seated in front of a computer or at the office, but wherever go as you live your life,” says the Pinterest blog post announcing the apps. 
The app launches follow Pinterest opening up its registration process last week – removing the invite-driven system it had used previously.
